How to learn typesetting

Take a look at this:

Five of the first seven threads have almost the same title. How much does that title tell about the meat of the thread? Nothing.

If you want good help then write good topic titles!
A good topic title describes what it looks like, the thing you want to make.

The first step in creating an effect is putting words on what you want to do, if you can't describe it with words you will have a very hard time writing the code to achieve something.
Apart from that, much of what is written in this thread over in the Karaoke forum also applies to general purpose typesetting: Read the manual. Learn the tools. Experiment with the tools. Describe what you want to achieve in words, even if only to yourself. Then most things will come by themselves.

Also, what's the fun in just duplicating others? Why not create something new instead?
Do not PM me asking for help with Aegisub, Automation, karaoke or anything like that, I won't reply.
Ask your questions in the public forums. Use the Search function, somebody probably asked the same question before.
All rights reserved to call you insults if you ask poorly thought out or redundant questions.
Experimenting is free and is a great way to learn things.
