Vertical margin doesn't change

Unread postby FragaCampos » Fri Mar 10, 2017 10:49 pm

Hi there.

I use Aegisub for several years and today I had a problem which is new.
I'm changing a style in Style Editor and for some reason the vertical margin doesn't change, no matter what I do or what value I put there. Everything else changes normally, if I want to, but that position stays the same.

What can it be? ???

Regards.

Ok, I think I found the problem.

I've converted the subtitles from stl to ass with Subtitle Edit, and that seems to do something to the subtitles which unables Aegisub to change the vertical margin.
I've converted the subtitles to srt and then imported them with Aegisub and now everything is fine.

That's odd... :P

Maybe the vertical margin is set on each individual subtitle?

Hi, jfs.
Thank you for your reply.

Yes, you're right. I didn't notice that.

So, is Subtitle Edit changing and adding these values or do they come already from the stl file?

Regards.

STL files by nature have a vertical position embedded in every subtitle, so Subtitle Edit is probably just trying to be faithful to the original file.
