I have changed ?data to /usr/share/aegisub-unstable. I hope this works.

I just wanted to mention that I fixed the Launchpad build so that it actually compiles with OpenAL support enabled (it somehow refused to do this).

Version 3.2.1 is now available.
I've also uploaded version 2.1.9 3.0.4 for Ubuntu 12.04.

I've tried out the latest Aegisub unstable (r8632) from your ppa now.
While it seems to work fine so far, I found that changing the language doesn't work. When I go to "View > Language" in the menu, the only option there is English, no other languages are listed.
Possibly it's got something to do with you changing the paths for the unstable version, and it doesn't find the other language files.
Having only English doesn't really bother me, but there may be others whose English isn't any good, and who can't use it properly then.

Haven't been on the forums for a while. I'll investigate this and see if I can fix it.

edit:

Now it's fixed. I've also updated libass to v0.12.0.

Is there any danger installing Aegisub 3.2.1 in 12.04 Precise manually? Or is it just the dependency shortage of 12.04 compared to 14.04?

It will not work. You'll be missing dependencies and it needs a newer c++ library. Version 3.0.4 was the last one that seems to build on 12.04.

edit:

Version 3.2.2 is now available.

I've added Aegisub plus all the dependencies into a tarball. Just run ./aegisub.sh from within there. Aegisub starts up in Ubuntu 12.04 for me (tested in VirtualBox).
However, expect it to be buggy. And I haven't figured out how to make use of the localizations either.

Here are packages that run on Ubuntu 12.04: aegisub-unstable_8700-1_amd64.deb, aegisub_3.2.2-1_amd64.deb
These packages don't require any PPA to be added.

I would like to say thank you. I almost build aegisub myself from source tarball, but a little ppa search found yours. I am using Ubuntu MATE, hopefully this works on my flavor.

You're welcome. I'm using Ubuntu MATE too and it works well.

Yeah, sorry. The "unstable" versions didn't build anymore and from Ubuntu 16.04 on version 3.2.2 is available from the official repositories.
